Codegate go into battle, once again, to raise money in memory of Ryan.

Updated: Apr 24, 2020

Ryan Hoar, a determined and fun loving 12 year old, sadly lost his 15 month battle against Neuroblastoma cancer in November. Around 100 children are diagnosed with Neuroblastoma each year in the U.K., and as time has proved, there is not enough known regarding the aggressive nature of this form of cancer so staff at Codegate wanted to raise some funds towards research into more effective treatments and into supporting children with life limiting conditions.

Labeltrace support engineer, Jessica Penning jumped into action and organised a festive marathon of competitive games for staff to get stuck into and once again, competition was rife!

Penny proved to be a Ninja with the rapid reaction game, "Silly Sausage", leaving the rest of the team miles behind. There was a much more calculated game of golf going on in the office where Chairman, Terran Churcher, proved that he had still got it and wiped the floor with the rest of the staff.

Developer, Dave Newman showed that his mis-spent youth in the arcade had finally paid off as he started a Space Invaders challenge on his homemade arcade console.

Our own 'I'm a Celebrity' style what's in the box game left some of the staff traumatised....

...whilst 'Guess the Mince pie' started to get everyone into the Christmas spirit.

With all of these games, along with a Christmas raffle, the team raised £500 which will be split equally between Neuroblastoma research at Southampton General Hospital and Make-a-Wish foundation who took Ryan on a fabulous trip to Disneyland Paris in October.
