Since its first outing in 1954, the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity has been bringing the creative communications industry together every year at its one-of-a-kind event in Cannes to learn, network and celebrate. For the 16th year in a row, Codegate have been supporting this prestigious event with a number of Expo solutions.
A specially tailored version of our registration software, Regdesk, was used to print over 16,000 visitor badges. Badges are used to allow access to the different areas of this huge event.
RedCarpet, a mobile scanning solution specially developed for Cannes Lions, was used to track delegates through security checkpoints and to allow VIP's access to the relevant galas and award ceremonies. The app can also be used in 'Tag' mode to simply record when a delegate passes through a certain area when our automatic RFID solution is not installed. This year, badges were scanned using this solution over 55,000 times!
The pinnacle of the event is the awards, and the voting for these awards is all done using our Expo voting solution. Over 110,000 preliminary votes were captured prior to the event and our on-site team managed 300 tablets and 50 rugged devices capturing a further 200,000 votes from 26 Juries.
Voting sessions started early in the morning and some went on until early the following morning so system reliability and on-site support was essential.
