mobilevantage Takes Away Small Business Pain Of Managing Mobile Workforce
30/07/2009
Today’s launch of Codegate's mobilevantage provides small businesses with a software solution that delivers a vantage point, previously only available to larger organisations, enabling them to cost effectively monitor, measure and manage their mobile workforce. Ideal for mobile workforces ranging from 5 to around 50 field based workers, mobilevantage is available from as little as £1 per worker, per day.
“Based on our proven mobileworker software already deployed by hundreds of enterprise users, mobilevantage will help small businesses reap the benefits of a mobility solution which were previously out of their reach,” explained Terran Churcher, managing director at mobile data specialist Codegate. “The mobile workforce visibility delivered by mobilevantage allows small businesses to increase efficiency and productivity, which in turn drives up profitability. At the same time, customer service and retention is improved through online traceability and reporting.”
Churcher continued, “Our experience has shown that the majority of small businesses manage their mobile field workers through mobile phone calls, manually completed job sheets that are prone to human error, e-mail and paper based spreadsheet systems. This leads to huge amounts of time being wasted when scheduling work appointments, re-keying information from job sheets and determining the status of existing jobs. Additionally there is no access to real-time information, such as the location of the most appropriate worker to meet an urgent customer enquiry, and small businesses believe that the only way to achieve this kind of visibility is through costly management systems. It was evident they needed help.”
Having identified this gap in the marketplace, Codegate developed mobilevantage, an off the shelf, configurable mobile workforce management software solution which meets the individual requirements of small businesses. mobilevantage runs on any Windows enabled mobile device, such as the Motorola range of rugged mobile computers and enterprise PDAs.
Although mobilevantage is an off the shelf solution, Codegate will, for a one off set up fee, carry out initial installation and configuration of the software to ensure that the solution is up and running and delivering fast return on investment (ROI). End users can then adapt mobilevantage in-house as their business requirements change.
Codegate’s extensive experience within the enterprise mobility space has led to the development of mobilevantage’s feature rich functionality which includes: job exporting and reporting, back end capture of job information, diary synchronisation and job scheduling, automatic date and time stamping, customisable drop down menus covering materials and parts, two way messaging, vehicle safety check and tracking, and optional satellite navigation.
The need to comply with corporate governance concerning health and safety issues for lone workers is of increasing importance. mobilevantage can play a crucial role in helping small businesses meet the guidelines through the requirement for drivers of company vehicles to perform vehicle checks such as oil, tyres and lights. Crucially, mobilevantage offers a simple, one touch lone worker alarm system that alerts head office if a worker is in a potentially dangerous situation.
“In today’s tough economic climate small businesses understand that they need to increase productivity, efficiency and profitability at the same time as controlling operating costs. mobilevantage delivers the increased management capability to enable these objectives to be met and importantly, allows the small business to compete on a more level playing field with larger organisations. mobilevantage gives small businesses the confidence to throw away their paper based management systems and transform their business,” concluded Churcher.
