Courier Helps its Customers to Reduce their Carbon Footprint

Mobile data solutions specialist Codegate has announced that Mail Box Express, a leading courier company, is to deploy its mobilecourierâ„¢ software solution combined with Intermec's CN3 rugged handheld mobile computers to provide paperless proof of delivery. The solution will meet Mail Box Express customer's requirements to implement Green IT solutions.

"As our existing contracts came up for renewal, it became increasingly evident that the ability to provide a courier service that enabled our clients to significantly reduce their carbon footprint was absolutely key to us retaining their business," explained Darren Shaw, Managing Director of Mail Box Express. "Before Green IT became a real issue for companies, a paperless proof of delivery service was a 'nice to have'. Now that the environment has become a real concern for all organisations, solutions that help companies to reduce their carbon footprint have become a 'must have'."

After looking at several other solutions in the market place, Mail Box Express chose Codegate's mobilecourier software as it crucially delivers paperless consignment processing, real time same day delivery tracking, instant proof of delivery, on line invoicing and barcode scanning. Importantly, mobilecourier will easily interface with Mail Box Express' existing management systems and data stores.

Codegate's solution includes Intermec's CN3 rugged handheld GPS enabled mobile computers which will be issued to all of the Mail Box Express Drivers. "The CN3's are equipped with satellite navigation capability which will enable us to provide faster more efficient collections and deliveries," added Shaw.

As well as helping Mail Box Express to grow its customer base and increase customer retention, Codgate's paperless solution will greatly reduce the need for clerical input from office based staff currently involved in handling customer requests for collections and deliveries. We will definitely be rolling out the solution to our regional offices," concluded Shaw.
